Create your gang sheet in Canva
From a blank page to a sheet thatโs ready to print, one step at a time. Templates for A4, A3, half metre, 1 metre and 2 metre sheets.

Set up a page at your sheet size
Open our template, or make the page yourself. Either way the page is the sheet, so its size must match the sheet you order.
- Open our template
Pick your size in the template box on this page and open it. If Canva shows Use template for new design, click it; otherwise go File โ Make a copy first, so youโre working on your own copy.

On the Canva home page click Create a design โ Custom size. Change the units from px to cm, then type the width and height from the Sheet sizes card.
- A background colour is fine while you design
Colour the page if it helps you see light designs. Remove it before you download: anything on the page prints. Sharing a link with us instead? We can remove it for you.

Create a design โ Custom size
Add your artwork
Upload the designs you want printed. Use your own artwork, or artwork you have permission to print.
- Upload your files
Uploads โ Upload files. PNGs with transparent backgrounds are ideal: in your uploads they show a checkerboard behind them. JPGs always have a solid background.
- Remove any background
Select the image, then BG Remover in the toolbar above the page (Canva Pro). Check the edges afterwards; hair, shadows and soft edges often need tidying.
- Use big files
Canva canโt add detail. A small logo will print blurry at 25 cm. Design at print size, 300 DPI: see the artwork rules.
- Text and shapes are fine
Anything you make in Canva itself (text, shapes, Canva graphics youโre licensed to use) prints crisp at any size.
Size, duplicate and arrange
Set each design to its real print size, make copies, and leave room to cut between them.
- Set the real print size
Select a design, then โฏ โ Position. Under Advanced, keep the Ratio locked and type the width in cm, for example 25 for a front print or 9 for a left chest.
- Duplicate
Ctrl / Cmd + D makes a copy at the same size. Make as many as you need.
- Leave 1 cm between designs
Turn on rulers and guides (File โ View settings) to keep gaps even. Keep 5 mm from the page edge.
- Stay inside the page
Anything past the edge is cropped. Canva shows the page border, so keep every design fully inside it.
If your designs have no background, you can rotate them and fit them in as close as you like. Just remember each one gets cut out, so leave room to cut around it: 1 cm between designs is perfect.
Download or share your gang sheet
Canva Pro: download a transparent PNG (or a PDF). Canva Free: share your design link and we download it for you.
- Share โ Download
Top right, click Share, then Download.
- File type: PNG
Not JPG: it canโt be transparent.
- Size: slider all the way up
Drag Size to the end (3.125). The bigger the number, the sharper the print.
- Quality: High
Not Compress or Limit size.
- Transparent background: on
The switch that matters most. Off means a white background, and white prints.
- Download
The whole page, exactly as you laid it out. Donโt select one design first.
- Share โ Download
Top right, click Share, then Download.
- File type: PDF
Canva may mark it Suggested.
- Presets: Print
Not Digital. Print keeps the full quality.
- Colour profile: RGB
Leave it on RGB. CMYK dulls bright colours.
- No crop marks or bleed
Leave Advanced settings off. Crop marks would print too.
- Download
PNG is still our first choice. If you send a PDF, we check the background before it prints.
- Click Share
Top right of the editor, with your finished sheet open.
- Access level: Anyone with the link
Change it from Only you can access.
- Set it to Can edit
So we can open it in our Canva Pro and download it with a transparent background at full size.
- Copy link
The purple button.
- Paste it on the upload page
In Your file, paste the link in the Canva link box instead of uploading a file.
Check the downloaded file
Thirty seconds now saves a reprint later. Open the file on your computer, not in Canva.
- Open the PNG
Look for a checkerboard or dark grey behind the artwork. A white background means Transparent background wasnโt on; a coloured one means the page colour is still there.
- Check the size
Right-click โ Properties (Windows) or Get Info (Mac). The shape should match your sheet: a half metre is a little wider than it is tall, a 1 metre sheet not quite twice as tall as it is wide.
- Zoom in
At 100% the edges should be crisp. Fuzzy edges mean the source image was too small.
- Read it once more
Spelling, the right number of each design, nothing mirrored, no leftover guides or template notes.
- Checkerboard behind the artwork (transparent)
- Full sheet size, nothing trimmed
- Sharp when zoomed to 100%
- Spelling and quantities checked
