Using something else?

A canvas at your sheet size, 300 DPI. 58 cm wide, as long as your sheet (A4 and A3 are their normal size).
Transparent background. Remove any fill or background layer before you add artwork.
Designs at real size. At least 1 cm between designs and 5 mm from the edges.
Export a PNG with transparency on, at 300 DPI. Works in Affinity, GIMP, Photopea, Inkscape and Procreate.

Print size guide

How big should each design be? These are the print sizes we do most, drawn to scale on an adult tee. Use them as a guide, then measure your own garment before you set the size.

Common items and a good size for each. These are starting points, so measure the flat area you're covering before you set the size.

Measure first. Lay the garment flat and measure the space you want to fill. Kids' and fitted sizes usually need the next size down.

Measure first. UV DTF likes flat, smooth areas. On tapered or curved items, size the design to the flat part so it doesn't wrinkle.

2Step 02

Artwork that prints clean

Eight rules that cover most problems before they happen. The one that catches most people is the white background: try it below.

Transparent background

Only the artwork prints. Anything that isn't transparent prints too, including white.

No white boxes

A white background prints as a white rectangle around your design.

1 cm between designs

This leaves room to cut each transfer out cleanly. Keep 5 mm from the sheet edge too.

No low-res images

Design at print size, 300 DPI. Enlarging a small image won't add any detail.

No soft glows or fades

Shadows, glows and see-through edges print speckled. Make edges solid.

No hairlines or tiny text

Keep lines at least 0.5 mm thick and text at least 6 pt so nothing breaks up.

No mockups or guides

Leave off t-shirt outlines, size labels, guides and crop marks. They'll print.

Don't mirror it

Send your artwork the right way round, exactly how it should look on the item.

Lengths round up to the next 10 cm: 1.45 m is charged as 1.5 m. The bulk discount kicks in over 1 m and is worked out on the total metres in your order (sheet length × how many sheets), so 2 × 2.5 m gets the 5 m rate.

Questions people ask

What is a gang sheet?

One sheet of transfer film with lots of designs printed on it together. You pay for the size of the sheet, not for each design, so filling it up gets you the most for your money. You cut the designs apart and apply them one at a time.

What's the difference between DTF and UV DTF?

DTF is for fabric. It's heat-pressed onto tees, hoodies, bags and caps. UV DTF is for hard, smooth surfaces like tumblers, glass, metal and acrylic. It sticks on with pressure and doesn't need heat. They're different materials, so each has its own sheet.

Can I put different designs on one sheet?

Yes, and that's the point of a gang sheet. Mix any designs and sizes you like, as long as there's at least 1 cm around each one and 5 mm from the edges.

How long can one sheet be?

Templates go up to 5 m (Canva pages go up to 2 m: click + Add page to keep going). If you need more than that, split it over two sheets or ask us about a longer run: both DTF and UV DTF are printed on 58 cm × 100 m rolls.

How does the bulk discount work?

It's on the per-metre rate, by the total metres in your order (sheet length × how many sheets): exactly 1 m is the full rate, then 10% off over 1 m, 20% from 5 m, 30% from 10 m, 40% from 25 m and 50% from 50 m. Two 2.5 m sheets are 5 m, so they get the 20% rate. The quote works it out for you. Lengths go up in 10 cm steps and round up, so 1.45 m is charged as 1.5 m.

Can I use Canva for free?

Yes. Design your sheet in Canva Free as normal. The one catch is the download: Canva Free can't save a PNG with a transparent background, and a white background prints white. The workaround is easy — don't download it. Use Share → Share link in Canva (set to "anyone with the link can view"), paste the link into the notes when you upload or send it to us, and we'll download the correct transparent file for you.

Does white in my design print?

Yes. White is printed as white ink. Only transparent areas don't print. If you want the colour of the item to show through somewhere, make that part transparent rather than white.

Should I mirror my design?

No. Send it the right way round, exactly how you want it to look on the item.

How long does it take?

Gang sheets are dispatched within 2 working days. Order before 10am and there's a good chance it goes out the same day, depending on our workload — the 2 days are our buffer, not a promise of the same day. In a hurry? Pick Rush when you upload: you become our first priority, so it's almost certainly printed and sent out the same day (order and pay before 10am). It's 10% on top of the order, for orders up to 10 m in total.
